About the 2016 SelectUSA Academy
The SelectUSA Academy takes place Sunday, June 19th from 1:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. at the Washington Hilton.
The SelectUSA Academy is an optional pre-Summit orientation for participants from companies, state and local governments, and economic development organizations (EDOs) who want to make the most out of the SelectUSA Summit. The sessions included in the SelectUSA Academy review the basics of investing in the United States at a level of detail that are not covered during the main portion of the Summit. The SelectUSA Academy is divided into two tracks. The Investor and EDO tracks include concrete information and practical tips on topics such as regulations and investment incentives, investor visas, and analytical tools to better understand current foreign direct investment (FDI) and reshoring trends.
- The Investor Track is particularly useful for investors who are new to the U.S. market. Participants in this track gain concrete information and practical tips on how to invest and grow in the United States and what to expect along the way.
- The EDO Track is tailored to state and local governments and economic development organizations (EDOs). Participants in this track gain valuable insight into foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction strategies and the latest economic trends and resources.
Academy attendance will be capped at approximately 500 attendees.
